<ALMVoyagr> Once upon a time . . . Chakotay looked up to catch Kathryn's gaze focused directly on him. She didn't blink, she didn't move and Chakotay wondered if he, himself, was still able to take a breath.
<Anne3> He should have telegraphed the dip, but that's what lessons are for. Looking around he saw the rest of the class had stopped dancing and were now staring at them.
<Lena> Kathryn finally looked away from him and noticed that everyone was watching. She stepped away and blushed
<ALMVoyagr> "I thought there would be better outcomes to this dance, Commander," Kathryn eyed him, quirking a half smile.
<Anne3> "Sorry Captain. I promise to get better with practice," he said grinning as they straightened their clothes. Winding up in a heap on the floor had not been of their most graceful moments.
<Lena> Tom came over to them, twirling
B'Elanna around as they grinned like idiots. "Still trying to be Captain,
Chakotay?" Tom said.
<Lena> "I think you picked a great
way, no one would ever suspect."
<Lena> Kathryn ducked her head and
coughed to cover her laugh. "Excuse me."
<ALMVoyagr> Chakotay reached out to the Captain's retreating form and tugged on her arm, twirling her back in toward him. Kathryn felt her hips bump his as she was drawn back into their private dance space. "You can't leave me to my doom out here," Chakotay murmured. "We have to win the bet tonight -- in case you may have forgotten. I for one do not want to be stuck cleaning the filters."
<Anne3> "Why do I let you talk me into these things?" She said, trying to look annoyed, but failing.
<Lena> "Because you love me." He grinned.
<Lissa> (aaaaaawwwwww),
<Anne3>
(sigh)
<Lena> She swatted at him. "Those dimples
won't get you anywhere."
<Lena> Just then the music came on
to another dance. The Samba. Kathryn lifted her head and gave a quiet prayer
to whatever deities kept them safe.
<Lissa> (LOL!)
<ALMVoyagr> "Besides," she softly wrapped her arms around his neck, and started to sexily sway to the music, guiding him, "that information is still classified."
<ALMVoyagr> Chakotay sighed and resisted kissing her gently on the cheek. There were more important matters at hand. "I still can't dance. Not even with you by my side. Not well at least. We're going to lose tonight -- and Tom Paris is going to make our lives even more miserable. If that's possible."
<Anne3> The instructor came over to personally supervise their efforts on the Samba. Rearranging their arms and hands, she sent them to their fate with the inane comment, "Just listen to the music and you'll be fine."
<Lena> "Sure, fine. Tell that to my
back." Kathryn said.
<Lena> Chakotay leaned over and whispered
into her ear. "I can help with that."
<Anne3> Kathryn shivered as he whispered in her ear. "Behave yourself." She tried to use her Captain's command voice, but it came out tentatively instead.
<Lena> "Yes ma'am."
<Lena> Harry danced his partner over
to Tom and B'Elanna. "Look at them."
<Lena> All four of them turned. The
other three turned back to look at Harry. "What?"
<Lena> "Look how close they're dancing."
<Lena> Tom grinned. "I'm sure they'll
be dancing even closer once we get our shore leave tomorrow. The (Insert
Alien name) are having a 'feast' for us. Something that involves--"
<Lena> B'Elanna hit him, "Shh Tom."
<Anne3> "Tom, I don't think the ambassador
mentioned anything about dancing as part of the proceedings," Seven said
over Harry's shoulder.
<Anne3> "And all of us are dancing
at the required proximity from our partners." She looked at Harry
and raised an eyebrow.
<Anne3> "I'll explain it later Seven,"
he said steering her away from Tom and B'Elanna.
<Lena> "Is everything in place?" B'Elanna
asked.
<Lena> "Everything except the players.
We have to convince the Captain to go on shore leave."
<Lissa> (LOL)
<Lena> "Hmmm, I'll talk with Chakotay
tonight. That is, if he doesn't walk the Captain home."
<Lena> Tom raised an eyebrow but remained
quiet. "I'll go get David from Sam's if you go talk to her."
<Anne3> Meanwhile, Kathryn and Chakotay
were perfecting their dancing completely unaware of their crews plotting.
<Anne3> "See, it isn't so difficult
once you get moving together," she said.
<Anne3> "Letting me lead helped a little
too," he chuckled. "You can have a lot more fun if you don't try
to be the captain all the time."
<Lena> The music ended and Kathryn sighed.
"We need to leave. I have a busy day tomorrow."
<Lena> "You don't have to."
<Lena> "We're not going to argue this
again, Chakotay."
<Lena> "I'm not arguing, I'm demanding."
<Lena> She glared at him for a moment
and then sighed. "I give up. Sure, whatever."
<Anne3> "Let's try something simple,
Ok?" He instructed the program to continue with a waltz.
<Anne3> "I think this is more our pace,
don't you Kathryn? After all, we're just starting to figure out how
to dance together, and we wouldn't want to trip and fall again."
<Lena> "Learning to dance in so many ways." Kathryn whispered.
<Anne3> They continued waltzing around the floor in silence, enjoying the music and each other.
<Lena> The night ended quietly, without
further mishap and Chakotay walked Kathryn back to her quarters.
<Lena> "I'll see you tomorrow," he
whispered.
<Lena> "Yes."
<Lena> Their lips met for a brief kiss
before Kathryn walked into her room.
<Lena> The next morning...
<Lena> B'Elanna and Tom stood on the
transporter pad waiting for their captain and first officer.
<Lena> Somehow B'Elanna had managed
to catch Chakotay, and ask him about the captain. She had saved all of
her excuses when she learned that Chakotay had already asked Kathryn to
come and she had reluctantly accepted.
<Lena> They were just starting to get
worried when the doors opened.
<Lena> Seven and Harry walked through.
<Lena> Tom threw up his hands, and
B'Elanna felt like screaming. Seven looked at them curiously.
<Lena> Harry grinned.
<Lena> No one noticed when they people
they waited for walked in quietly.
<Anne3> The Captain and Commander took
their places on the transporter pad, and signaled to the tech to initiate
the transport.
<Anne3> A moment later they materialized
on the planet.
<Lena> The weather was warm, as they
expected. The six turned and sighed, happy to feel the fresh, unrecyled
air.
<Lena> "Welcome to our wonderful planet!"
The alien stopped before Kathryn. "You must be the captain." He smiled
and turned to Chakotay. "And you must be her first officer."
<Lena> Tom snickered.
<Lena> "Come with us, we have prepared
a..." he looked back at Tom and B'Elanna.
<Lena> "Feast in their honor." He said.
<Lena> "Yes, feast in your honor."
<Lena> Kathryn gave Tom a raised eyebrow
but he responded with a grin. They followed the alien.
<Anne3> "We're honored ambassador,"
she said slipping into diplomat mode. "I'm sure we'll enjoy it."
<Lissa> (*G*)
<Anne3> So much for simple shore leave
she thought to herself. I wonder if I can still manage a little time
alone with...
<Anne3> Her thoughts trailed off as
they were led away, following the ambassador.
<Lissa> As Kathryn and Chakotay were led away, Tom decided to discuss the latest event with his friends. "So...What do you think this could mean?" he said giving all sorts of meanings to that sentence with his voice and body language.
<Anne3> B'Elanna swatted at him not so playfully, "Shut up, Helmboy. Are you trying to jinx this?"
<Lena> "Not trying to jinx it, just
doing my best to help out."
<Lena> "We've done our part, not its
up to them."
<Lena> Meanwhile, Kathryn and Chakotay
followed the Ambassador, getting even more confused as they went on.
<Lissa> "Sounds like fun," she grinned. "The Ambassador said that this is one of the best places for ocean views."
<Lena> The ambassador seated them at
a large table in a beautiful garden. Kathryn looked around them and inhaled
to pleasant scents.
<Lena> "Don't inhale too deeply, madam,"
their waiter said. "Those flowers are an aphrodesiac."
<Anne3> Chakotay heard the waiter, and
leaned over, "Should we call the Doctor for a counter-agent, or do you
want to risk it?" His face looked serious, but his whispered voice
was anything but.
<Lissa> (!!!!!!!!!)
(LOL), <Lena> (ROTFL) (...sure)
<Anne3> Kathryn pondered the question,
"We're adults, I'm sure we can handle ourselves. Besides, most stories
about aphrodisiacs are merely myths."
<Anne3> She brushed his arm as she
leaned back away, but she wasn't sure why she had done it.
<Lissa> Chakotay noticed the touch and smiled ever so slightly at her. He moved his hand that was under table and began to caress her hand.
<Lena> "Commander, Captain." Seven said.
<Lena> They jumped apart.
<Lena> Harry sighed and looked up at
the pale blue sky. He enjoyed her company, but always trust her to say
the wrong thing. Or be in the wrong place.
<Lena> Kathryn rose. "Perhaps, I should
check on Voyager."
<Lena> The ambassador rushed to them.
"Surely you have left the ship in capable hands, no? Wait a while, enjoy
your companion. The entertainment's about to begin."
<Anne3> Chakotay reached out and touched her arm. "Captain, we are officially on shoreleave. I'm sure Tuvok would alert you if anything required your attention."
<Lissa> Kathryn's lips parted slightly as she considered what had been said. "You are both right. I'll just relax and enjoy myself," she smiled.
<Lena> "Good." The ambassador said.
"The show will begin in a few minutes."
<Lena> Meanwhile Tom and B'Elanna sat
back and watched the 'secret' interaction between the two. But of course,
they were feeling the affects themselves.
<Anne3> In fact, everyone except Seven
was feeling the affects. At least that is what she said as she draped
herself over Harry and pointed out the constellations to him.
<Anne3> Tom was too busy examining
the ridges on B'Elanna's face to notice, or comment. Kathryn just
laughed at her senior officers, from her vantage point in Chakotay's lap.
'Wouldn't they feel silly in the morning,' she thought.
<Lissa> Kathryn suddenly became quiet and turned to Chakotay. She looked deep into his eyes and gently placed her lips on his.
<Lena> Kathryn placed a hand on his
chest and decided she'd probably feel silly in the morning as well
<Lena> But morning was a long time
away.
<Lena> "Perhaps we should go on our
hike," Kathryn suggested when she was able to tear herself from Chakotay.
"I think the ocean might cool us off."
<Lena> They left the clearing hand
in hand.
<Lena> Tom was rudely pulled apart
from B'Elanna by the ambassador. "They're leaving! What about the ceremony?"
<Anne3> Just as the Kathryn and Chakotay
were starting to leave the area, the ambassador caught them and prevailed
upon them to stay until the end of the ceremony.
<Anne3> He walked to the head table
and motioned for the guests to be quiet. Then he called the visitors
to the front with him, and began to arrange them for their ceremony.
<Anne3> Tom snickered, as he and B'Elanna
were place on one side of the command team, while Harry and Seven took
up a position on the far side.
<Anne3> If he had been paying more
attention, he might have noticed that they were not arranged with "girls"
on one side and "boys" on the other.
<Lissa> "Today, we are gathered to witness the union of three fine couples," The Ambassador began. All of the couples were too stunned to do anything, so they just stood there.
<Lena> Kathryn managed to gather her
wits and speak. "This is a *Marriage* ceremony?"
<Lena> "Yes."
<Lena> She turned to Chakotay, still
in somewhat of a clouded haze. "As much as I like the idea, I had nothing
to do with it."
<Lena> Harry and Seven were no help
either.
<Lena> She looked at Tom and B'Elanna
who gave her sheepish grins.
<Anne3> The ambassador concluded the
ceremony, and since no one was able or inclined to object, he wished the
happy couples well.
<Anne3> Before they could consider
the situation too much, a couple of the aliens came up and led each of
the couples off to their equivalent of honeymoon cabins.
<Lissa> Harry and Seven both looked very uncomfortable, despite the flowers effect. Tom and B'Elanna were smiling like goons. Kathryn and Chakotay, on the third hand, looked like wistful newlyweds.
<Lena> Kathryn, with Chakotay in tow shrugged off their alien guide. "Tom, you have some explaining to do."
<Anne3> "The flowers don't cause any
effects or emotions that aren't already there. They just give it
a little nudge," he said grinning from ear to ear.
<Anne3> Kathryn pulled Chakotay back
over to her, "You boys can play later, I have some unfinished business
to attend to with my husband."
<Anne3> The last Tom and B'Elanna saw
of them for the week-long shore leave was their backs heading into their
cabin.
<Lissa> The End!
