10:10 PM FFX Released
I suppose this might be old news by now, but my computer's barely working at the moment so you'll have to forgive me. Final Fantasy 10 is out in stores! I spotted it in my local Wal-Mart, quite a surprise since they never seem to get anything right away.

Tuesday December 11, 2001

12:58 PM Final Fantasy X International
Goku
The US and Europe were lucky, we got the better version of FF7 than Japan. We got the extra WEAPONS, more items, an extra FMV, ect. Soon after, in Japan, the same version was released called FF7 INTERNATIONAL. Which had all of the US's improvments, but in japanese. Now, Squaresoft is releasing another version of FFX, called FFX International. The new features are unknown at this time.

Also of note, the forums are down again, for who knows how long. :(

Friday November 16, 2001
4:08 AM New Fan Art

10:33 PM Final Fantasy X...Closer than it seems?
Goku
When Squaresoft first announcend the FFX release date for the PS2 in the states, it was 2-2-01. Then, it was moved to 1-1-01. Even better. But now, according to ebworld.com the sate has been moved to this year!!! 12-26-01. It ant much, only a few days less, but its better than nothing. Hopefully this is the official release date.

2:25 AM Version Differences Guides Updated
The FF1 Japanese/English differences guide is pretty much finished now (unless I add a bunch more stuff), and I've been doing a lot of work on the FF4 one. Find them both on the Series Page.

Monday October 15, 2001

There's a new picture on the Fan Art page. Take a look.

6:00 PM FFXI gets a new logo
Goku
With FFXI slowly coming close to it's release, Square gave another trailer. In it showed a new logo.

*head to the GIA to see it*

I personally like it!

Special Mini Movie in FF TSW DVD package
Goku
After the disappointment with the FF movie, Square seems to be trying to redeem themselves by adding many extras to the movie. It will be on 2 DVDs, one for the movie, and the second to have interviews, making of the movie, and that kind of stuff. But a newly reported extra will be the mini movie, "The Grey Project". It will run for about 5 minutes, and feature Grey, as the main character. All these extras are making me wanna buy the movie!

Friday October 12, 2001
4:25 PM FF4 on WonderSwan Color
Final Fantasy 4 is now in the works for the WonderSwan Color. *does a happy dance* I just hope that's a little more reason for them to release it outside of Japan.

11:00 PM Amano Art Collection
Dragoon
Yoshitaka Amano, who did illustrations for Final Fantasies 1-6, and 9, recently released a giant collection (5 books, each 700+ pages) of his various art in Japan. However, he is still contemplating on releasing the collection outside of Japan. If you bug Amano enough (by sending letters to letters@amanosworld.com), they might consider releasing the art collection here.

3:12 PM WSC Emulator
The WonderSwan emulator Cygne now plays some WSC games. FF1 and FF2 are playable but still very flawed. I'd keep an eye on this one.

Final Fantasy: The Great Lost
Goku
Just recently, Square announced that it would leave the film making business. Final Fantasy: Spririts Within, was a great financial loss for Square. Many who saw this movie (like myself) were greatly disappointed in the movie. I guess there won't be a FFMovie2 as rumored.

Final Fantasy Unlimited Trailer
Goku
A new trailer for the anime series, FFUnlimited, has been released. You can view it in alot of Square sites, but heres a link if you can't find it http://www.squaregamer.com/sg3story.html?artid=24

8:50 PM Kingdom Hearts has FF characters!!
Goku
As many of you know, Kingdom Hearts is a Squaresoft/Disney RPG for the PS2. But what many don't know is that FF characters will make a apperance. Selphie from FF8 is in, Tidus and Wakka from FFX are in the game as well. Now...is this a good thing??
Walkthru Updated
You heard me. I fixed up the walkthru, so uh, yay.

Thursday September 13, 2001
10:25 PM Cool News about US's FFX release!
Goku
Square told the public that Final Fantasy X for the US will be released January 2002, not Febuary 2002, which many game sites had. The voice of Tidus will be James Arnold Taylor, who also works in the TV show, Futurama. I'd watch it now if you havent to see what to expect in FFX. Hedy Buress, will have the voice of Yuna. Check thegia.com for more info.
Being a big fan of voice actors, I tried to figure out exactly who James Arnold Taylor provides the voice for on Futurama, but I didn't have much luck.

Saturday September 8, 2001
1:30 PM More Information on the new FF show
Goku
Square gave more information to the public about the new Final Fantasy TV show. The show will be called "Final Fantasy: Unlimited". The main characters will be Wind and Lisa. The setting will be on earth, but isn't related to any of FF thus far (I-X). If you want to read the full story, check out thegia.com.

12:25 PM CC Makes Greatest Hits
More news from Goku
As usually, one of Square's masterpieces are now becoming a GREATEST HITS title. It's Chrono Cross!!! You can now buy Chrono Cross for the Playstation for $19.99. The only thing that sucks is that it has that stupid green strip on it! >-<<
Argh, they aren't supposed to do that until the original is hard to find and forgotten about so I have a chance to get the non-green cover at a decent price. :( Oh well, maybe I still will.

3:14? AM WSC Petition!
Listen up folks! I generally have little faith in petitions, but something just seems right about this one. Go here to sign a petition to get the Wonderswan Color and the first 3 FF games released here. Do it! I'm serious. If you don't sign I'm gonna come to your house and kick your ass. *shakes fist*

Wednesday August 1, 2001

I've greatly increased the accuracy of the Enemies Page, which was previously based on the info from the Nintendo Power strategy guide. It is now the most accurate FF1 monster data you can find anywhere.

9:30 PM FF News
More news from Goku
It has been reported that there is a little bug in the re-release of the Final Fantasy Tactics PSX game. First FF Chronicles, and now Tactics! I don't really know the details, but I'll report soon as I hear of it.
So yeah, according to the GIA the discs have a format problem for the PS1 just like FFC. What the hell are these people doing?

12:51 AM Small Update, FF News
I did a small update to the FF1 Japanese/English differences page, find it on the Goodies Page.

More news from Goku
A street date has been set for the Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within movie. It will be a double DVD set and will cost $29.99. It's amazing how fast the street date was given, since the movie is still being shown. The street date is October 23, 2001.

Sunday July 29, 2001
6:30 PM New Staff Member, FF News
There's a new staff member now: Goku. He'll be providing FF (and other) news.

Here's the first news report from Goku
Good news for FF fans who are looking for a Final Fantasy Tactics guide. On July 31, 2001, Prima will re-release their players guide for Final Fantasy Tactics. Usually this book is rather expenisve on ebay.com auctions, but now you can get it for 10 dollars. Good for you, bad for ebay sellers.
Even more good news, Square for some odd, but good reason is shipping rare copies of what some people consider the best RPG of all time: Xenogears. Yes, you read right. Now at your local Electronics Boutique, Funcoland, and Babbages, you can pre-order Xenogears. This is the 3rd shipment of the re-released and is at the normal price of $39.99. I highly suggest getting this game, I sure did!

4:50 PM New Fan Art, Bugs Updated, and More...
There's a new Fan Art up.
I FINALLY added a few more bugs to the Bugs section.
I also fixed a few mistakes around here and there.

Monday July 23, 2001
2:00 AM Walkthru Finished, More FF News
That's right, I finished chapter 7 of the Walkthru. I can't believe the walkthru took me a year to finish. (Well, it's not quite finished. I need to fix a few things and such, but it's good enough for now.)

And now another news report from Dragoon
Apparently, after the reasonable success of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Square has been talking of going into the TV business with their talented movie-making studios. This new Square "TV show" will most likely be a computer-animated sci-fi based show (eg. FF:The Spirits Within) rather than a regular cartoon or sitcom or whatever. Their isn't much info available at the moment and pretty much everything is speculation, so you probobly shouldn't take any of this seriously (afterall, we are talking about the people that promised North American releases of FF1 for WSC).

The newest fan comic has received a new episode. Chapter 7 of the Walkthru is now about 2/3 finished. Also, I've updated the FF4 Japanese/English differences thingy, and I'll be updating it a lot soon. Find it on the Series page. Oh yeah, I've also added an FF1 Story page.

Monday July 16, 2001
2:55 AM New Staff Member, New Comic, Walkthru Updated
First of all, Dragoon has been added to the staff. He'll occasionally bless us with FF (and other) news. There's a new comic up in the Fan Art section. Also, chapter 7 of the walkthru is on the way.

Here's the first of Dragoon's news reports:
Here's the latest FF/Square buzz from Dragoon
- Chrono Trigger 3 coming soon (possibly for PS2)
- Despite recent rumors, Square announced that FF tactics will not be re-released as a PSX greatest hits title. :-(
- The FF Movie is a relatively big success (so far it made $3.9 million in ticket sales). No chocobos were in the movie, but a moogle does make a tiny cameo appearance.
- FF10 is to be released July 19 in Japan. Pre-orders have already surpassed that of FFIX.

Saturday July 7, 2001
11:56 PM: I need to start posting some more FF news on here. I read that FF Tactics is going to be rereleased as a greatest hit, sometime this month. FF Chronicles (FF4+ChronoTrigger) is already out. Unfortunately, there are problems with the FF4 disc not working on some systems. You probably already know all that tho, so I need to hire some staffers. More info later...
