The US and Europe were lucky, we got the better version of FF7 than Japan. We got the extra WEAPONS, more items, an extra FMV, ect. Soon after, in Japan, the same version was released called FF7 INTERNATIONAL. Which had all of the US's improvments, but in japanese. Now, Squaresoft is releasing another version of FFX, called FFX International. The new features are unknown at this time. |

FFXI gets a new logo
|
With FFXI slowly coming close to it's release, Square gave another trailer. In it showed a new logo. *head to the GIA to see it* I personally like it! |
Special Mini Movie in FF TSW DVD package
|
After the disappointment with the FF movie, Square seems to be trying to redeem themselves by adding many extras to the movie. It will be on 2 DVDs, one for the movie, and the second to have interviews, making of the movie, and that kind of stuff. But a newly reported extra will be the mini movie, "The Grey Project". It will run for about 5 minutes, and feature Grey, as the main character. All these extras are making me wanna buy the movie! |

Amano Art Collection
|
Yoshitaka Amano, who did illustrations for Final Fantasies 1-6, and 9, recently released a giant collection (5 books, each 700+ pages) of his various art in Japan. However, he is still contemplating on releasing the collection outside of Japan. If you bug Amano enough (by sending letters to letters@amanosworld.com), they might consider releasing the art collection here.

Final Fantasy: The Great Lost
|
Just recently, Square announced that it would leave the film making business. Final Fantasy: Spririts Within, was a great financial loss for Square. Many who saw this movie (like myself) were greatly disappointed in the movie. I guess there won't be a FFMovie2 as rumored. |
Final Fantasy Unlimited Trailer

Cool News about US's FFX release!
|
Square told the public that Final Fantasy X for the US will be released January 2002, not Febuary 2002, which many game sites had. The voice of Tidus will be James Arnold Taylor, who also works in the TV show, Futurama. I'd watch it now if you havent to see what to expect in FFX. Hedy Buress, will have the voice of Yuna. Check thegia.com for more info. |

Square gave more information to the public about the new Final Fantasy TV show. The show will be called "Final Fantasy: Unlimited". The main characters will be Wind and Lisa. The setting will be on earth, but isn't related to any of FF thus far (I-X). If you want to read the full story, check out thegia.com. |

FF News

It has been reported that there is a little bug in the re-release of the Final Fantasy Tactics PSX game. First FF Chronicles, and now Tactics! I don't really know the details, but I'll report soon as I hear of it. |
Small Update, FF News
|
A street date has been set for the Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within movie. It will be a double DVD set and will cost $29.99. It's amazing how fast the street date was given, since the movie is still being shown. The street date is October 23, 2001. |

Good news for FF fans who are looking for a Final Fantasy Tactics guide. On July 31, 2001, Prima will re-release their players guide for Final Fantasy Tactics. Usually this book is rather expenisve on ebay.com auctions, but now you can get it for 10 dollars. Good for you, bad for ebay sellers. Even more good news, Square for some odd, but good reason is shipping rare copies of what some people consider the best RPG of all time: Xenogears. Yes, you read right. Now at your local Electronics Boutique, Funcoland, and Babbages, you can pre-order Xenogears. This is the 3rd shipment of the re-released and is at the normal price of $39.99. I highly suggest getting this game, I sure did! |
New Fan Art, Bugs Updated, and More...| Monday July 23, 2001 |

|
Apparently, after the reasonable success of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Square has been talking of going into the TV business with their talented movie-making studios. This new Square "TV show" will most likely be a computer-animated sci-fi based show (eg. FF:The Spirits Within) rather than a regular cartoon or sitcom or whatever.
Their isn't much info available at the moment and pretty much everything is speculation, so you probobly shouldn't take any of this seriously (afterall, we are talking about the people that promised North American releases of FF1 for WSC). Source: http://www.thefinalfantasy.com/ |

Here's the latest FF/Square buzz from Dragoon ![]() - Chrono Trigger 3 coming soon (possibly for PS2) - Despite recent rumors, Square announced that FF tactics will not be re-released as a PSX greatest hits title. :-( - The FF Movie is a relatively big success (so far it made $3.9 million in ticket sales). No chocobos were in the movie, but a moogle does make a tiny cameo appearance. - FF10 is to be released July 19 in Japan. Pre-orders have already surpassed that of FFIX. |
11:56 PM: I need to start posting some more FF news on here. I read that FF Tactics is going to be rereleased as a greatest hit, sometime this month. FF Chronicles (FF4+ChronoTrigger) is already out. Unfortunately, there are problems with the FF4 disc not working on some systems. You probably already know all that tho, so I need to hire some staffers. More info later...
10:05 PM: I fixed up some mistakes on the Magic section, and added several new features to it.
8:20 PM: I've done some various updating on the Series section.
1:00 AM: Banners clearly won the poll. They are the lesser evil.
5:00 PM: I added a poll, so vote!
12:34 PM: I've finally done an update to the Wonderswan page, and I've added some new Fan Art.
5:40 PM: Despite some technical difficulties, I've finally managed to update this place again. Unfortunately, some things may not have been uploaded properly. If something's missing, you know why. Anywho, I've (essentially) finshed chapter 6 in the walkthru, and I must've updated the page about Japanese/English differences, which can be found at the Goodies page. I believe I may be about to run out of space on the server. I'll have to hunt down a new one.
8:06 PM: I've updated my FF1 Translation Guide Thingy once again. Here's what's new:
9:15 PM: The Magic page is finally up, I've added more fan art, and I have a new affiliate: FF Havoc. Go, go, for the good of the city!
2:40 AM: Woo! The counter went over 10,000 some time in the last few hours. Thank you all, for your various clicking, and looking and such.
1:38 AM: I finally got around to applying the new layout to all the sections, and best of all, I fixed up the Fan Art section.
4:01 PM: Version 2.0 of my FF1 Retranslation/Restoration hack is now up. Get it on the Goodies page.
5:11 PM: I rearranged some sections and updated the layout of more pages and I did a lot of work on the FF1 Japanese Guide and got some work done on guides for the other games. Also, the Mysidia of my last news post turned out to be a fake. (Boy, do I feel stupid.) Go to the real Mysidia to make up for it.
12:25 AM: I got rid of the picture links because the load times were unacceptable. While I was at it I prettied up the place. I'll try to fix up all the sections soon to match.
8:28 PM: I have a new affiliate. Go visit Mysidia or I'll bite your legs off.
2:34 AM: I added more fan art, changed the colors and such on some sections, and got rid of the ROMs again. I'm not taking any chances.
7:59 PM: The Weapons section is (essentially) finished.
1:00 AM: I added more fan art by Dr Shankitron x and Scumdogg.
9:26 PM: I did another update to my Japanese Guide.
10:07 PM: I did a big update to my Japanese Guide and a little update to my FF1 WSC translation guide. I also put up some more fan art by Dr Shankitron x.
1:30 PM: I added some fan art by Dragoon and Dr Shankitron x. Also, the ROMs are back.
7:56 PM: I updated my FF1 WSC translation guide.
1:12 AM: There's another fan art by Scumdogg.
1:00 PM: I put up 2 more fan arts by Scumdogg.
5:45 PM: I almost forgot, there's more fan art up. This time by my good friend Scumdogg.
9:00 PM: I'm not hosting ROMs anymore, it's just not a good idea. I also added a Square Artwork setion.
7:12 PM: I made a page about my new solution to Keeping my Wonderswan Safe. I can also inform you about my new Ikonboard which is now up and running.
10:50 PM: I found a great hosting type thingamawhatzit: http://www.warfactory.com/ I'll likely move this place to there.
12:30 AM: I did a bunch of minor updates in the walkthru.
8:46 PM: I added a page that explains some of the basics of reading Japanese and I uploaded what I have done of my FF1 Wonderswan guide.
9:18 PM: I've added a new fan art.
1:20 AM: I spent the day working on various Japanese projects but all I have to show for it at the moment is an update to my ff1jap.txt. I'll try to do a lot more tomorrow (or later today really).
4:30 PM: I updated my Wonderswan page and I'll be working on a translation guide.
12:57 AM: I just beat FF1 WSC and I'll start adding the new info into everything tomorrow.
11:30 PM: I've added WSC info into this, that, and the other. I'll (hopefully) update the Wonderswan page tomorrow, along with adding a page about the Playstation FF6 button configuration. Oh yeah, I've finally figured out the Japanese names for all of the enemies and I've updated the ff1jap.txt.
1:12 PM: Yes yes yes!!!! My Wonderswan arrived today! More news later...
11:40 PM: I uploaded the tiny nugget of stuff I've accumulated about FF2j.
I gave up on my convictions and decided to have ROMs and then I spiffed up the Goodies page. I also updated the quick walkthru and ff1jap.txt. There'll be a new section up soon too.....
5:15 PM: I added a page about Bugs.
As promised (but a day late) I've put up a Fan Art/Fiction section. At this point all that's there is my stuff.
Thanks to my recent flood of visitors, the guestbook has seen some suggestions. I welcome any suggestions you can offer, and I'll try to add what I can. I'll try to throw up a fanart section tomorrow morning (or later today rather). Also, as I mentioned a while back, I have an FF2j section in the works.
I did a big file reorganization (again) and did some updates here and there. I've also got an FF2j section in the works.
Well, hey hey! I have an affiliate now. Head on over to Final Fantasy, the best FF1 site I've found. Then come back here, because I'm needy.
