LIST OF COMPLETED WORK:

12/00-DOS unreliable; switching to Linux.

1/??/01-File system completed.

1/??/01-Header file "enet.h" completed for networking definitions.

1/??/01-Memory allocation and self-execution now coded. A very basic kernel is taking shape!

1/22/01-Serial driver and "cat" utilities now complete. Kernel is more or less finished. It's still very basic, but refinments will follow. Still need a bootloader. Luke has found an old version of Xwindows to run as a GUI.

1/24/01-Interrupt handling routines being coded. VGA monitor support started. Will be included in a future release.

1/24/01-Luke's computer (Hydra) is being rebuilt as a multiprocessor.

2/7/01-Shell being re-implemented with threads. Shell now called tsh.

2/7/01-Having trouble with threaded shell. Going to fix problem soon.

2/10/01-GCC won't compile pthread commands. Going to use clone() function to create pthread implementation. Sorry to all you folks who wanted strict POSIX compliancy.

2/10/01-OS/C ran for the first time today! It was just a shell and cat command, and Linux reset when we passed arguments to the cat command, but it ran! Luke took home the shell to work on.

3/13/01-OS/C has now become independent of the standard C library. A basic scheduler has been coded.

3/30/01-OS/C has compiled for the first time (not counting the "pseudo-shell"). Binaries (object files in ELF format) are now available on the website.
