(Starts where “Breaking Off” left off, Dawson and Joey kissing shown in the window. Jen is sitting on the dock, hands around her knees, looking miserable. She gets up and walks away)

(Dawsons room, Dawson and Joey looking at each other, amazed)

Joey: Dawson?
Dawson: Joey, I love you.
Joey: I love you too Dawson.
(Dawson and Joey kiss again)
Dawson: Wanna go for a walk?
Joey: Sure

(They climb on to the roof and go down the ladder, and walk on the beach, holding hands)

Joey: I guess we are ready for honesty.
Dawson: Yeah. Even if it is a big wor...
Joey: What?
(Dawson points a finger to their right. Jen is huddled up and crying. She doesn’t notice Dawson and Joey. Joey and Dawson walk up to her)

Joey: Are you all right Jen?
(Jen looks up, surprised)
Jen: Oh! I was just... I... My Gramps died today. (She doesn’t say the other reason she is crying)
Dawson: I’m so sorry Jen...
Joey: Me too, I know how much he meant to you.
Jen: Yeah, um I better go, see you guys later.
(She gets up and walks home. Dawson and Joey walk back to the dock. Joey and Dawson kiss, and she gets in her boat, and rows back to her house. Dawson walks home.)

(Dawson is sitting on his bed, thinking about Joey. Cut to Joey, sitting on her bed, thinking about Dawson. The two scenes are put together, and they lie down and close their eyes at the same time, a smile on their faces.)

(Cut to Jen, in her room, hanging up the phone. Gram walks in) Jen: That was my mom. She’s sending me a ticket to New York for a week, but then I’ll be back
Gram: Okay. I’ll miss you
Jen: (Smiles) I’ll miss you too
(Jen packing. In her suitcase, she finds a picture of Billy that she must have forgot to take out when she first came out here. She looks at it for a second, and then rips it up)

(Joey at her locker at school. Dawson comes up behind her)

Dawson: Guess who?
Joey: Um, Brad Pitt?
Dawson: Sorry to disappoint you
Joey: I guess I’m not that disappointed, as long as we can see “Legends of the Fall” tonight.
Dawson: Only if you don’t leave me for him.
Joey: Deal
(she gives him a quick kiss, and walks to class)
(Pacey comes up to Dawson)

Pacey: You’re kidding, you guys finally got together?
Dawson: Yeah, see ya Pacey
Pacey:(Yeliing to Dawson as he walks away) Fine, don’t tell me anything
Dawson:(Turning back to Pacey) Okay.
(Pacey sighs)

(Jen, in her room zipping her zipper on her suitcase. She is leaving in two hours for New York. Gram walks in.)
Jen: Can you help me zip this? I think its stuck.
Grams: Sure
(She bends down and finally fixes it.)
Grams: There
Jen: Thanks
Grams: So, what are you going to do in the big apple?
Jen: My mom said we might go to Long Island for a vacation.
Grams: Well, it better be good, you’re missing a week of school.
(Jen smiles)

(Dawson and Joey walking home from school, holding hands)
Dawson: Is it okay if we watch “Legends of the Fall” at Pacey’s tonight? He says he really wants to see it.
Joey: Either that or he wants to know whets going on between us. But sure, I guess I can bear with him for a night.
Dawson: Great. I’m sure he’ll love that. I’ll pick you up at five, okay?
Joey: Make that 5:30, I’ve got tons of homework, plus I have to study for a quiz in biology tomorrow.
Dawson: Ok.
(Pacey comes up behind them)
Pacey: So, are you guys coming to my house tonight?
Dawson: Sure, we’ll be there around 5:30
Pacey: So, are you guys still virgins?
Joey: Maybe, I guess you’ll never know
Pacey: Ahhhh!! Oh well, see ya at 5:30
Joey: (Smiling at Dawson) Make that six.
(Pacey rolls his eyes, and leaves)
Joey: I’ll see you later Dawson
Dawson: See ya at 5:30
(They kiss)

(Jen is in New York, with her mom)
Jen’s mom: Jennifer, I hear from your grandmother you’ve settled down.
Jen: Um, yeah
Jen’s mom: So whats this with Dawson, is that his name?
Jen: yeah, um, we dated for a while.
Jen’s mom: DatED?
Jen: Um, yeah. We broke up.
Jen’s mom: I’m sorry.
Jen: That’s okay
Jen’s mom: This may be the middle of the school year, but how would you like to move back here?

(Dawson and Joey kissing VERY deeply in front of Pacey’s house. Pacey opens the door)
Pacey: Oh jeez! Come on, its 6:15.
Joey: Ooops.
(They go in Pacey’s house, and go to his room)
Pacey: Come on, tell me everything!!!
Dawson: (Wide eyed innocence) What do you mean?
Joey: (Wide eyed innocence also) Yeah?
Pacey: AAAHHH!!!
Dawson: Just put on the show.
(Dawson and Joey snuggle together as the opening credits of “Legends of the Fall” come on. Pacey sits on the floor.)

(Jen is her mom’s apartment , pondering whether or not to move back to New York. On one hand, New York is fast paced and full of excitement, but Capeside had her friends, and was peaceful.)
(Jen wakes up to her mother)
Jen: I’m gunna need more time to decide.
Jen’s mom: I understand. No hurry. By the way, Billy called for you. I told him you were busy.
Jen: Good, and I’ll be busy for the rest of my life as far as he’s concerned.
(Jen’s mom smiles)

( In the middle of the movie, Dawson and Joey fall asleep on Pacey’s twin bed. Pacey watches them smugly. After a while, Joey wakes up.)
Pacey: Well, I guess you could now technically say you did sleep with Dawson.
(Joey sticks her tounge out at him)
Joey: I could have said that since I was seven.
Pacey: But you’re going out with him now.
(Dawson wakes up)
Dawson: (Looks at Joey) Hello beautiful.
(Joey and Dawson kiss passionatly)
Pacey: Hey, if you guys are going to kiss like that, get off my bed. Don’t want anything bad to happen.
(Dawson and Joey look at him at the same time)
Dawson and Joey: Shut up!
Pacey: Hey, I can’t help it if I’m the only safe person here.

(Jen is sitting on a chair in her mom’s apartment, talking to her mom)
Jen: I want to stay in Capeside. I’ll miss you and everything, but I think I’d be much happier there.
Jen’s mom: Whatever makes you happiest dear. Come visit us whenever.
(Jen smiles)
Jen: Thanks mom.

(Paceys room. Dawson and Joey are in sleeping bags on the floor, Pacey is asleep on his bed. Joey and Dawson are still awake.)
Dawson: Hey, you never told me. Didn’t you go visit your dad again?
Joey: Yeah. I told him that he really messed up.
Dawson: Good for you.
Joey: Dawson?
Dawson: Yeah?
Joey: I love you.
Dawson: I love you too Joey.
Joey: Good night Dawson.
Dawson: Good night Jo.
(Dawson watches as Joey gets into her boat. Savage Garden’s I Wanna Stand With you on a Mountain starts to play)
