	Galaxy Class - Before the launch of the Sovereign Class, the Galaxy class starship has been regarded as the most advanced starship in the fleet. It has served the Federation well in diplomacy as well as in combat. In fact, it was the Enterprise D which saved mankind from destruction by the Borg. 	Excelsior - The Excelsior class was the platform for the experimental Transwarp drive in the early 23rd century. The test proved un-successful and the ship was fitted with normal systems. 	Akira Class - The Akira class starship is the main transport ship in the fleet. It has a large shuttle bay located at the front of the ship to support small fighters and shuttle crafts. 	Sabre Class - This class is also relatively new. It's small and compact configuration makes it easy to make. StarFleet has about a hand full of these ships. - This class is also relatively new. 	Nebula Class - This type of ship closely resembles the Galaxy class ships. They have the nacelles and engineering tucked under the identical saucer section of the galaxy. 	Pathfinder Class - This ships was newly introduced in the seventh season of Voyager. 	Miranda Type - There has been 3 designs for the Miranda Class. The first design incorporates a pylon on top of the saucer section for additional instruments and weapons (shown to the left). The second variation rids itself of the pylon. The third, only seen at the beginning of the Premier of DS9, has two laser cannons on it's sides, is presumed for combat situations.	150+ ships in Miranda type.
	Centaur Class - There is a lot of unknown information about this ship. The Centaur class ship seems to be a replacement for the Miranda type. 	Prometheus Prototype - This may be Starfleet's second attempt for the warship campaign. This is a prototype that utilizes the multi-vectoring technique, which means it can separate into 3 parts. The Romulans saw this as a threat and took the ship. But were stopped by the Doctor and the EMH Mark two.	USS Prometheus
	Yamato Prototype - This was the first and ultimate prototype in Starfleet's warship campaign. Stretching over 2 kilometers, it was to be the largest ship in the fleet. But it failed to prove worthwhile, tests proved that it was too slow and un-maneuverable and was the main target to small fighter crafts.	USS Yamato
